Bionicle: Draco, Lord of the Dragons

My study in Bionicle continues with Draco, Lord of the Dragons:

I built this creation a couple weeks ago, but I didn’t get to posting it until now because I instead wrote about my entry into the 2015 MocAthalon last week. The build had it’s genesis quite a while back when I built this custom arm and hand with some table scraps:

Separately I built this custom torso, because I wanted to find a new use for the Toa Nuva chest armor, of which I have more than I could possibly ever need:

The arm and the chest had a consistent look, so I put two and two together (both literally and metaphorically), and devised an assembly to attach them:

The rest of the build just fell into place:

I am very happy with the final product, and he has an unexpectedly large amount of articulation which allows for some fearsome poses:

Thanks so much for reading, and I can’t wait to read your comments!

  1. I’m sure that these are just as challenging to create as are some of the more “realistic” scenes you have developed.  But, you know that there’s a reason that they invented chocolate and vanilla, right?
